The Ladies’ Home Journal, August 1952

This week I have another issue of The Ladies’ Home Journal to share, this time from August 1952! I love the cover of this issue, with all the light blue and bright red, it’s just fabulous! This is yet another massive issue, so it’s chock full of wonderful 1950’s goodness! You can download a copy of your own for free on, or read a copy online (also for free!) right here. 🙂

    • I’ll definitely be posting the newest vintage magazines in my collection! I’ve posted my vintage French magazines before, but I really should also pull out some of the other vintage magazines I have and post about them as well, though I don’t have too many more – I definitely plan on expanding my collection! I just adore vintage magazines!

I’m doing pretty good, though I seem to have caught some kind of nasty bug and have been really sick so far this weekend, but other than that I’ve been doing quite a bit better this past week! 🙂 I hope you’ve been well too, sending you tons of love as well!

  1. This issue has a couple of cool features in it! One is an in-depth article on the Royal Family (Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret), and the other is an excerpt from the book ‘Giant’, which is one of my most favorite movies ever. *****

      • Giant is amazing for all of those reasons, imo. You need to set aside 3 1/2 hours to watch it; or watch it in two or three sittings. It’s epic. If you want more after watching it, there is a PBS documentary called ‘Children of Giant’. And then there is ‘Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean’, which is supposed to be about the cast and the locals when the movie was being made. I haven’t seen yet, but it’s on my watch list.
