Three Things About Me:

Oooh…three things about myself, this may be tough…

1: I was home schooled growing up and am mostly self-taught. My classmates and best friends were my four sisters (one older, three younger).

2: Growing up I was (and still am) a total bookworm, and outside of my sisters, books were my best friends. I brought books with me pretty much wherever I went and would even read while walking down the street. I also loved to write and was always writing stories and poems, so no matter what I pretty much always had either a novel or a notebook in my hand. Yes, I got teased pretty mercilessly for my bookish ways, but it’s paying off now in the form of this Mystery Blogger Award! 😉

3: I love playing guitar, though I don’t play as often as I’d like. I love teaching myself new songs and trying to perfect them. I used to write songs, but haven’t in years, so now when I do play guitar it’s typically a lot of David Bowie, Manic Street Preachers, Coldplay, Radiohead, and Matthew Good. I need to play more…and teach myself more songs!

Questions Asked For Me:

What is something you don’t like, but everyone else loves?

Hmm…I’m not sure. I don’t tend to keep up with a lot of trends or anything like that, so I think I’m probably grossly out of the loop. If I had to pick something though…I really hate fast food, which I know a lot of people love, though I won’t generalize and say that everybody loves it. I just don’t like the gross way it’s made me feel every time I’ve eaten it, or the weird, dishonest and dodgy practices of a lot of the companies who make it. I’d rather do my own cooking whenever possible and avoid fast food at all costs.

What do you think is your best quality?

Another tough one! Probably my determination. I don’t give up easily.

What do you love most about blogging?

Getting to talk to so many amazing people! ❤

What would be the best thing to come out for 2018 for you?

Ooooh…this is a really tough one and I have so many feelings when it comes to this question that I could write a short novel, so I’ll be pretty broad and general in my answer instead and try to keep it short! I guess the best thing that could come out of 2018 for me, would be positive change, in both politics and society in general and in regards to women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, human rights in general and the environment – I find it absolutely mystifying that there are still people (and people in positions of power, no less!) who refuse to believe that climate change is actually real and something we need to get under control. There have been a lot of movements that have been incredibly inspiring in the last few years, such as the strong reemergence of feminism, the Black Lives Matter movement, the Me Too and Times Up movements, and the uprising of young people fighting for sensible gun laws, etc, these are terrifying but inspiring times and so I have hope. I hope that the momentum keeps up, and I really hope that we’ll see positive change around the world in 2018.

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

A cat, 100%! They’re my favourite animals. 🙂

Who would you say inspires you the most?

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Thanks again to Laura for nominating me! This was so much fun and such an awesome surprise!

  1. I love your answer for what you’d like to see come out of 2018!

Thank you for the nomination! I really appreciate that you thought of me. However, I don’t do these kinds of award posts. They don’t fit with the format I want for my site — comics and illustrated stories. I hope you understand. I can answer your questions here though?

    1) To see the dinosaurs.

    2) Maybe one of the background characters in Harry Potter? So I get magic and get to be at Hogwarts, and I can be a part of exciting things, but I don’t have to destroy a super strong dark wizard to save the world. That would be a lot of pressure to deal with on top of high school.

    3) Erm … I don’t know. I tend to get my inspiration in small doses from all over the place. I try not to invest too much in one hero figure. It never holds long term. People just don’t work that way. But I need an answer, so I’ll be soppy and say my husband. He’s very patient and gentle and is always willing to have his beliefs challenged, and he makes me want to be like that too.

    4) Pizza. I find eating the same thing repeatedly really difficult (I get sick of things fast), but I would be able to change the toppings on pizza so much it would practically be a different meal each time.

    5) My super power would be to fly.
